I so agree. So agree. I am going to try a hand at sketching soon, but I’m so green I’d make the trees jealous! That — and I’m left handed, so anything I sketch tends to wind up on the side of my left hand. But I’m going to have fun trying it!
You can always learn how to draw, like I did many years ago, everyone can learn it but there are people who draw whatever they want without ever had lessons, they end up in a whole different level. They are the real artists. I started from zero, there are a lot of free courses on line now, but I went to the art academy for adults, problem there is that everyone has a different background, I mean like teachers for kids they get a lot of drawing lessons when they study to become a teacher. Then there are architects, they draw completely different but they are good at it, then there are housewifes and nurses and all sorts with different professions, all together in the same class. But our teachers told us not to look at other peoples progress but at your own progress, keep everything you draw even when you hate what you see, and in time you will see your own progress. And it proved to be true. So good luck !!
That is true. I never went to college to learn to refine any talent, and sometimes I wish I had. I’d know more about form and different styles and techniques. I do try and look these things up now and then, but I retain less and less these days, so I will just stumble along forward page by page!
Beautiful drawings. I’m always jealous at people who can draw everything they want to. That is a talent you have or you haven’t.
